Gameplay, Unleashed

Fewer Limitions. More Input. More Fun.

Natural Cunning Valued.

Surviving in the Phaseshift universe takes a certain amount of creativity and natural skills. In this reality your actions are only limited by your own knack for survival.

The rules were created as framework that guides your storyline, not restricts it. A fire spell, for example, should only be limited by a mage's imagination. You can conjure fire, but how can you use it creatively to your advantage?

Those who have a greater understanding of fire's properties will wield it most effectively. We're not giving you the answers.

General Bad-assery. Period.

Our universe presents an awesome fusion of magic, galactic space, technology and retro-futurism. By embracing multiple worlds we give users the chance to pick and choose, developing the scenario that best suits them.

We all have our favorite races, environments and style of play. In Phaseshift we allow every type of player to meet on an equal footing. This quickly leads to unconventional scenarios, which become excessively preposterous and awesome.

Due to the fact that our style of play requires so much user input and scenarios are so mixed, adventure and action is guaranteed.

What makes this game different than any other? Mostly, it’s the ridiculous stories that come out of it. GMs have much more storytelling freedom and can fudge heavily with the mechanics, and we provide more of a framework than anything else. Fireballs aren’t a specified size and shape, dealing a set amount of damage and applying certain specific effects every time. A fire spell should be a creation of a player’s imagination. Same way with skills, really. Intimidation will vary heavily from player to player based on how creative they get with it.
